Le Petit Club is a unique language playgroup founded by Marie Demene. She is a master’s level tutor with ample experience in teaching across private European schools. She is also the founder of a successful adult tutoring service in manhattan (french4nyc.com).

Her love for teaching was the spark for the creation of a language program exclusively for kids. Today Marie and Teresa, engage children through music and arts, while promoting active learning to ease the acquisition of a second language as naturally as possible.

Marie Demene

Marie was born in Marseille, France. She holds a bachelor’s and masters degree from the University of Provence. Her teaching experience includes teaching positions at Private Boarding Schools in the UK and France. She later moved to the US, and launched a successful French tutoring service for professionals in NYC.

Teresa Casas

Teresa earned a BA in Spanish from Portland State University and moved to NYC after graduation. She has worked in various school settings and has years of experience teaching Spanish and ESL in both public schools and other Spanish immersion programs. She brings the fun of spanish into everyday context and loves to add spanish dancing and salsa to her teaching!

Fernando Vera

Fernando holds a BS and MS in developmental psychology from Reading University (UK). His experience includes working to develop health educational material for children of diverse culture and language background. At our program, he works to ensure age-appropriate language material, and class design.
